The John Hampu Band
”…had its beginnings in 1985 at the request of a former Alliance City School
teacher. She needed a closing act for the annual year-end talent show and the band was created with several Alliance-area faculty
members/employees with musical backgrounds joining together to honor her request. Many members of the Alliance City Schools’
faculty performed with the band throughout the first 20 years, as well as, several parents of middle school students who
performed with the band during the early years.
Around the new millennium, the band was invited to perform for the Alliance (OH) annual Carnation City Festival for the "Days in
the Park" events, which provides quality musical entertainment the last four nights of the festival. "

" has played each year since then. Additionally, as it has since 2009, the band routinely closes the 10+ day event as
the final act.

" has appeared all around the tri-state area playing in many types of venues, nearly
all of them multiple times; the Canfield Fair (2017- present), the Stark County Fair, Sippo Lake State Park in Canton, Berlin Lake near
Atwater, North Canton's "Main Street Festival", car shows from Sugar Creek to Minerva to North Canton, Stark County clubs such as
Eagles, American Legion, Elks, VFW in different cities. The band has also performed at reunions in West Virginia and Ohio.
Additionally, the band has played many, many times for their hometown of Alliance, Ohio. The band has played the Alliance
"Caboose" Summer Concert Series every year since 2009; and once again this year. Since 2014, "

" has performed for the 13x NCAA Division III National Football Champion University of Mount Union Purple Raiders
Homecoming Game's pre-game festivities. In 2015, the band played for the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce's 100th Year
Anniversary at The Caboose.

” generally provides several hours of music as many rock & roll artists are featured
during each performance in unique multiple mini-tributes to honor the master musicians and stars of the past.
